Narrative Regarding Prayer Fixation

January 18, 2005

Question

Please let me know the answers to the follwoing questions, 1) Who are all the unbroken chain of narrators in these narrations. 2) Is this an authentic hadith? 3) Did Gabriel come into a physical form to teach the prayer to the Prophet (pbuh) and did the Prophet see angel Gabriel.

Thank you.

Answer

  1. We have provided complete references to the narratives. You may get all the information about the reporters of these narratives by referring to the original sources.
  2. Most of the experts of the science of Narrators have considered this narrative to be authentic.
  3. The narrative does not specify whether Gabriel came in human form or any other form. The important thing is that Gabriel (pbuh) practically taught the Prophet (pbuh) the time range of the various prayers. How and in what form did this practical teaching come by cannot be known through the information provided in these narratives.

I hope this helps.
