Praying Alone in Darkness at Home

September 7, 2005 by Admin

Question

I Have A Habbit Of Praying Alone And I Also Have A Habbit Of Praying At Night With Pitch Black Darkness ,Although I Feel Good About It And I Can Concentrate Greatly On My Prayers At Night And It Gives Me A Great Pleasure. But People Confuses Me That Praying In Darkness Is Not Suitable Or It Bring Evils,Please Clear My Mind And Explain With Some Examples of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

Answer

Islam does not forbid a person from praying in the dark. So long as you are praying in a timely and correct manner, then there is no reason to stop this habit. Saying that it is evil or inappropriate has no basis in the religion.

I hope I have clarified the issue.

God knows best.
