Question
My friend told me that out of all the people, jews are the ones God dislikes the most. because they’r always trying to harm us muslims. is this true ?
Answer
Your friend is quite wrong. God dislikes any person or group because of their contempt towards His religion and one’s own innate guided nature. There is no basis in Islam to say that God dislikes anyone because they are trying to harm the Muslims. Besides, even the reason given does not bear any resemblance to reality. Whatever animosity there is between some Muslims and some Jews has no impact on how God observes us and judges us. Each individual will be held accountable for their wrongs whether they harm a Muslim or a non-Muslim. Those who are impious, unrighteous and ignore the guidance of God will earn His wrath. In fact any group that subjects another group, not necessarily being Muslim, to any sort of oppression will merit His displeasure. As such, it is the individual that is assessed for his beliefs and deeds not because he did not like another group.
God’s wrath upon the Jews was because of their rank transgression against God, their egregious disobedience and their atrocious murders of God’s prophets. This, of course, is related to those Jews who did such a thing and cannot be assumed that this blankets the entirety of all Jews who lived after the advent of the Prophet. This sort of information is a means of guidance and should never be used for self exaltation or for the justification of prejudices. One needs to be careful not to use such specific instances of religious guidance for political or personal agendas.
I hope I have clarified the issue.
God knows best.
