Wego, the Gulf travel platform, reveals new top destinations for Muslim travelers

Wego, one of the largest travel booking platforms in the Middle East, compares millions of flight and hotel deals in real time. Widely used in the Gulf countries, it follows the evolution of tourist behavior in the region. Its data has become a reference for anticipating trends in Muslim travel.
Muslim travelers from the Gulf are broadening their horizons for 2026. The latest analyzes from Wego show a growing interest in destinations combining easy access and halal infrastructure: Vietnam jumped 128% in searches, China by 95% and Hong Kong by 51%. In Europe, Iceland, Finland, Portugal and the Netherlands are among the most dynamic markets, while New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Japan, Australia and Germany confirm the growth of long-haul travel.
This rise in power is explained in particular by the efforts made by destinations to welcome the Muslim public: official halal certifications, accessible prayer spaces, adapted catering and signage in Arabic. From Hong Kong to Lisbon, new infrastructure allows Gulf families to travel with greater comfort and peace of mind. Another key element: improving air connectivity. The opening of new direct lines from Riyadh, Dubai and Doha to Asian and European cities is reducing travel times and facilitating short-term stays, which are popular with Gulf travelers. Added to this is a hotel offering which is being restructured to offer explicitly halal-friendly services.
Everywhere, the trend is based on the same equation: solid halal guarantees, adapted services, reinforced connectivity and strong cultural experiences. A cocktail that redraws the map of Muslim travel for 2026.
