Yehuda Cohen, father of Gaza hostage, meets ICC to pressure Netanyahu
The Times of Israel revealed today that a father of hostages met with the ICC prosecutor to put pressure on Netanyahu to respect the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Yehuda Cohen, father of Israeli-American hostage Nimrod Cohen, spoke with Karim Khan, prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), regarding the possible use of the arrest warrant against the Israeli prime minister.
During a heated session at the Knesset Constitution Committee last week, Mr. Cohen had already threatened to testify before the ICC against Netanyahu for “war crimes.” The Kan channel reports that this initiative aims to guarantee the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas. His son, a 19-year-old soldier captured on October 7 in Nahal Oz, is one of the 91 hostages still held in Gaza. His release is expected in the second phase of the current 42-day deal.
Tensions are rising as prosecutor Khan recently told Reuters that Israel had made “no real effort” to investigate the war crimes charges, justifying the upholding of the arrest warrants issued in November against Netanyahu and his former defense minister.
