The Grand Mosque of Paris calls on mosques to devote Friday sermons to the coming of Pope Leo XIV

On the occasion of the arrival in France of Pope Leo The institution also asked all mosques and imams affiliated with it in France to do the same. In its press release, the Grand Mosque of Paris explains that this sermon will notably highlight the respect of Muslims towards Christians and the welcome given to the Pope, recalling that hospitality, kindness and justice towards those who belong to another religion are values ​​deeply anchored in the teachings of Islam.

The Grand Mosque also underlines the particular responsibility of religions in a society rife with tensions: their differences must not become “impassable borders”, but on the contrary contribute to bringing human beings together. This initiative is part of Pope Leo XIV’s four-day visit to France, from September 25 to 28, which will take him successively to Paris, Lourdes and Metz.
